Artist
It would be an understatement to say art has played a major role in my life. As much as I love the former, it is more the process of creating that has continued to inspire me. The mixing of paint, applying it on the canvas, and ending up with a result that relates to the viewer is sheer wonder for me. My favorite subject, the cityscape, was not something I’ve always portrayed. In fact, it was only in San Francisco and later in New York that I fell in love with the grandeur and architecture of the cityscape. Sure, to many it can be a place of residence, work, or leisure, yet for me, it spells endless composition, color, and shapes. Each city block reveals varying perspectives of metamorphosis, the past blending into the present. I started my journey in the Fine Arts at the San Francisco Art Academy in 2012, where I studied for two years. My professors encouraged me to commit myself completely to painting and so I did. I started by selling my work in cafes, and later on in galleries, specifically Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery. Almost every year for the past 5 years I’ve been in group exhibitions as well as in 2 solo exhibitions. I’ve competed and placed in various exhibitions, contests, and shows, in person and virtually. My current residence is New York City.
